Objective: Understand how to support students with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties in your music sessions.
Content: In this course you will explore strategies for delivering music activities for children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMHD). You will investigate the elements that build for success with these young people, including learning how to work with what the young people bring, including the importance of matching focus and energy. The course will help you consider how you organise and resource your sessions, and encourage you to think about your own intentions and use reflective practice to ensure that you are always meeting these young people’s needs.
Outcome: On completion of this course you will be able to plan and deliver music sessions for students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties with confidence.
