Along with Drums for Schools we are thrilled to announce that our Building Musical Confidence Action Research Project has been shortlisted for a Music and Drama Education Award!
The MDE Awards have shortlisted this project in the Outstanding Musical Initiative category. Music Education Solutions were commissioned as independent researchers on this project in 2024, which was funded by Drums for Schools, and delivered in partnership with Leicestershire Music Hub and Waltham Forest Music Hub.The aim was to find out whether we could improve non-specialist teacher and pupil confidence and skill and help them identify as ‘more musical.’ This aim was comprehensively achieved over a 10 week period, which was impressive enough – but to now have received an award nomination for this project is the cherry on top of the icing on the cake!
Winners will be announced on 12th February at the awards ceremony in London – but in the meantime, we’d like to thank Drums for Schools for having the vision to conceive and financially support this project, and Leicestershire Music Hub and Waltham Forest Music Hub for nominating and supporting the schools involved.
