Cultural Consortium Shropshire is a network of arts and cultural organisations working with children and young people (aged 0-25) in Shropshire. The consortium shares a vision that children and young people in Shropshire aspire, achieve, progress and take the lead through arts and culture. They want to build an aspirational cultural offer which is accessible, engaging, diverse, high quality, inspiring and fun. The Consortium is funded by the Arts Connect Capacity Development Fund.
CCS have recently appointed Music Education Solutions to research the current cultural offer for children and young people in Shropshire, within the Education System. The areas of focus are:
- Developing and identifying support networks / clusters of schools, who have a commitment to providing a strong cultural offer for their pupils
- Making links and developing partnerships between the education and cultural sectors
- Identifying the CPD needs of the education sector
- Developing a database of schools ‘Arts Ambassadors’ and cultural providers working in the county
Music Education Solutions would be interested in hearing from any schools who wish to have input into the areas outlined above, and their consultants are available for face-to-face and telephone appointments throughout June and July.
